Halloween Barbie® Doll

Additional Barbie® Doll dolls are now on display in the popular Barbie® Doll at 40 exhibit at the Eisenhower Museum in Abilene, Kansas, just in time for Halloween. A 1964-65 Red Pony Tail Barbie® Doll appears in #944 "Masquerade." A Ken® and Skipper® from 1963-64 also wear the "Masquerade" costumes in the exhibit. Other Halloween costumes to see are the 1993 Bob Mackie "Masquerade Ball"; the 1997 "Happy Halloween Barbie® Doll and Kelly® Doll" gift set exclusive to Target; a 1998 "Halloween Party Barbie® Doll and Ken® Doll Gift Set"; and the 1998 Rendevous Barbie® from the Masquerade Gala Collection.

"W have had a lot of fun with this exhibit", said Dennis Medina, museum curator. "I enjoy listening to comments from visitors when they see a doll they used to have and hear them tell their friends, daughters, and granddaughters about how they plaed with Barbie®."

The exhibit opened in April and has proved to be one of the most popular in recent years. It consists of over 500 dolls and accessories dealing the the doll that was first manufactured by MattelTM during the Eisenhower Adminstration in 1959 and its popularity has continued throughout the last 40 years. Visitors may see the exhibit from 9 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. until December 31. The museum is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
